My lovely wife and I recently attended a couple’s banquet put on by our local church. It blessed our socks off. We walked away that evening encouraged about life, about our relationship with God and each other, and about our future together.
Funny thing is, it was by no means a grand production. Like most of the people that attended, it was fairly simple, low-budget, and low-key. There was a nice meal, a few silly games, some uplifting words, and lots of hearty laughter.
As we hoped it would, that evening hit a relational spot for us. It met a need. It filled a gap, just like the church is supposed to.
I’m going to start calling those L.C.A.I.B moments – “Local church at it’s best.” There are probably lots of moments like that, but unfortunately, they go unnoticed.
Not this time.
Thank you, church. Way to shine!
“…I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.“
-Jesus, Matthew 16:18
It’s a new day with God. Run with it.
