If you’re facing a challenging situation, let this statement by the sink in

‘Then David said to Solomon his son, “Be strong and courageous and do it. Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed, for the Lord God, even my God, is with you. He will not leave you or forsake you…
1 Chronicles 28:20
The quote above comes from a scene in King David’s life when he was about to hand the keys to the kingdom to his son, Solomon. David was about to die and Solomon was his appointed successor.
No doubt, Solomon was feeling very anxious about the whole thing. After all, wasn’t he too young? Too inexperienced? Was he ready? Didn’t he need more time?
The circumstances may vary, but the theme is always the same. God gives one of his servants an assignment that feels way beyond their abilities and they need reassurance. They say something like, “I can’t do this” and God responds,
“Yes, you can, because I will be with you.”
Over and over in the Bible we find these scenarios of the nervous and reluctant trying to find the courage to go forward in life. From Moses to Joshua to the original disciples tasked by Jesus to take the Gospel globally, the faithful have always needed regular reassurance.
And God’s response has consistently been the same. When the faithful lack the heart to keep moving forward in the mission God has given them, he repeats his pledge to be with them no matter what.
How about you? Are you facing something that has you feeling under-sized today? Lacking the grit to go? If so, it’s perfectly normal. Just don’t let it win. Listen to the pep talk. Hear these words as if they are just for you:
“Be strong and courageous and do it. Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed, for the Lord God, even my God, is with you. He will not leave you or forsake you…” 1 Chronicles 28:20
It’s a new day with God. Run with it.
